This two book set is is full of traditional Scottish songs and actually includes two books - The first book contains the whistle/flute part and guitar chords (most songs are written with a D instrument in mind). The second book contains full piano accompaniments for all the songs. Many of the songs also include lyrics.

The first book starts off with a history of traditional Scottish songs, followed by a brief discussion of the different forms of Scottish dance music (jigs, hornpipes, etc.), and some notes on ornamentation

Three fingering charts are also included - Tinwhistle fingering chart, Tinwhistle Cut fingering chart, Flute Cut fingering chart (Boehm or Silver flute).

Antiquities of Scottish Music

While this set of books does include fingering charts, it assumes that you can already read sheetmusic. If you're new to playing whistle, you might want to take a look at some of our recommendations on our Beginners Page.
