Chieftain Low D Whistle

This is a Chieftain Low D whistle (the keys
of D and G are the most popular for traditional Irish music, this Whistle
plays well in both keys).
PLEASE NOTE:
The Chieftain Whistle shown in the picture on this page has an internal tuning
slide. Tunable Chieftains now have an external tuning slide, with a cork lining
that holds the slide firmly in place. We will try to get an updated pic posted
as soon as possible.
It has a two octave range, and is
made of an aluminum alloy - it's quite solid, built to last a lifetime. The windway is
narrower than most other Low D Whistles, making it require less air to play. Unlike many
Low D whistles, this one plays quite well in its entire two octave range. It is made by
Chieftain, one of the most well known makers of high-end whistles today.
Note that this whistle is
tunable.
